About Us The
Continental Country Store was founded by Walter and Maria Babiak
in 1969, and opened in the spring of that year. "We wanted
to bring a little bit of Europe to the Ashland farm country."
Maria said, a native of Germany. The Continental truly does emulate European quintessence offering approximately 50,000 unique items from the old world including candle pyramids from Germany to English tea and tea ware. "There's something here for everybody and who doesn't love candy and chocolate bars?" Continental offers the finest of European designer chocolates and candies. Our chocolates are made in Switzerland and shipped fresh. We feature Swiss, French and Italian style truffles, pralines and other chocolate specialties. If you're not ready to indulge while here, you can purchase the freshest and highest quality ingredients for at home enjoyment including flowers, appetizers, meats, desserts, imported spices and natural flavorings.
